About P D Paul 

A Boomer born in 1948. Educated in a Forces family, attending  3 Grammar Schools, a Forces Boarding School in Germany and a supplementary 6th Form in King Edward VI Grammar School, Stratford upon Avon.   Dodged University, instead via an RAF Flying Scholarship, attended the Royal Air Force College Cranwell from 1967 to 1969. August 1969 commissioned Pilot Officer  and Advanced Helicopter Flying Training at RAF Tern Hill and RAF Valley. Posted to RAF Odiham, then RAF Gutersloh with detachments to Joint Helicopter Flying Station, Aldergrove in N Ireland.

     PVR from RAF in 1973. Took up a B Arch course at Bristol University, moonlighted as a croupier in Whiteladies Sporting Club for a living wage. Lured by Sunday Times advert to apply to join Royal Hong Police as an Inspector. Flew out to Hong Kong on 4th January 1975. Happy exciting and rewarding days. Retired as Superintendent under Golden Handshake scheme in June 1997 aged 49. Moved to Portugal. Brexit forced the issue in 2020 and applied for residence.

Joined Algarve Wednesday Walkers in 1997. Started AWW Blog in 2005. Chief Blogger until 2015. Founded Annual Round the Corner Walk in 2002 to 2012. Founded Western Algarve Geriatric Strollers in 2015.  Diagnosed with PD in 2019. Still at it in Lagos and Algarve.
